User tracking
Your actions on the site (which styles were installed, what searches were performed, etc.) are not tracked except by normal HTTP logging. This HTTP logging will not be made public. userstyles.org only uses cookies to maintain login state. Login state cookies are kept for a maximum of two weeks after the last visit.
Account
A userstyles.org account allows you to post comments, ratings, and styles to the site. An account is not required to browse or install styles.
E-mail address
- An e-mail address is not required for a userstyles.org account.
- Your e-mail address will not be shared with a third party.
- Your e-mail address will not automatically be publicly displayed on the site, except in the case when you provide a PayPal e-mail to receive donations, as this is required by PayPal.
- Your e-mail address may be used by an administrator as a point of contact to ask a question or comment on a posting, to reset a password, etc.
- userstyles.org will not regularly send out mass mailings to its users.
Stylish
Stylish itself will contact outside servers on two occasions: when saving a style from a site, it will "ping" the originating site to increment the style's download counter; when checking for updates, it will attempt to download updated CSS from the site.
Styles
Styles may contain references to resources (e.g. images) on external servers. To load these external references, the browser must make an HTTP request, which discloses information such as user agent and IP address to the external server. In Firefox, this information is the same information provided when downloading any resource, but does not contain a "Referer" header which could be used to track user activity.
